The Bran Report

It's good for parts of you that you'd probably rather not think about.

The latest headlines

TIme Magazine follows where I lead. Bran Report sets sights on other mainstream media. Getting lazy and just plugging someone else's work is the new journalism. Stocks up, shares down.

You know what, I tried the web comics, even the dinosaur ones, but, I just can't bond. As the forerunner of this great trend, any suggestions?

Huh. You know, I'd have though you'd be all about jokes about verbs and such.

Still, why not try these?

I personally think Joe Dunn should be working for newspapers by now. Joe Loves Crappy Movies is great if you do too, but most of the time you don't need to know anything about the film to get the point of the strip.

If you love Victorians, you might like Wondermark, I suppose. If you think It's Not Art Unless It Makes You Want To Die, you might like a softer world. Personally, I hate it, but I pretend to like it when I'm talking to intelectuals.

My personal favourite right now (cautionary warning: don't forget, I am a huge nerd) is The Order of the Stick. Start with the Cast page, then try #110, #119, #120, #125, #301, then back to #125, #199 and #295. You'll probably know if you can stand any more jokes about Experience Points and +1 Swords well before you get through that sampler.

Now, I feel confident that you love tea and Jimmy Carter, so my actual reccomendation is Scary-Go-Round. Unusually, it is British and has ongoing stories. Go here and have a look around. Meddling, Shopgirl and Count My Toes are pretty good!

Actually, you know what's just occured to me? You may get more mileage from another internet phenemetron: the video-blog.

The Show with ZeFrank is pretty much the only one I watch. Why not try these shows:
Fancy Dress (Today's show)
"Outside"
"Scrabble" which, I guess, is somewhat not-work-safe.

These things come out five days a week. I have seen them all (over a hundred, at a guess) because I am an obsessive.

I love the dinosaurs, but it's been a while since I read one since I've forgotten where I got up to.
